About The L Suite

The Suite, Inc. is a collection of C-Suite communities including The L Suite and The F Suite. This role would primarily support The L Suite and its subcommunities - TechGC, FundGC, PubGC, Deputy, and Counsel.

The L Suite is an independent, invitation-only community for GCs & CLOs and their teams, focusing on venture capital firms, high-growth companies, and public companies. Our mission is to help our members do their day-to-day jobs better and excel throughout their careers.

We have 4,000+ members around the globe, with formal chapters in 11 cities, including Boston, Chicago, New York, London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. We host 300+ private events throughout the year across the United States, Europe, and virtually.

About the Job

We are looking for our next Manager or Senior Manager of Content. Leveling will depend on skills and expertise. This position is a unique opportunity to work hand-in-hand with C-Suite level executives from thousands of venture capital firms and technology startups in order to build a truly game-changing community.

We are looking for a highly motivated, personable, and organized manager to lead contentacross our national event programming, working closely with our small, internal Content Team and partnering with prominent members of our community as well as industry-leading law firms, professional service providers, and tech platforms.

This person will own the content strategy and execution (including theme, agenda, speaker selection and preparation, and run of show) for a portion of our virtual event programming (i.e., virtual forums/conferences, panels, and webinars).

Our ideal candidate has experience in the legal and/or startup industries, has intense innate curiosity, a passion for learning, and desire to produce the best legal event content in the industry. The right candidate will enjoy managing multiple projects and stakeholders, providing clear communication to sponsors and speakers for every event (including the leaders at prominent tech companies like Lyft, Airbnb, Coinbase, etc.). We are known for our event content, so this is an incredible opportunity for someone who loves events, educational content,startups, and the legal space.

Responsibilities

  • Select and work with various co-chairs (i.e., prominent members) to develop industry-leading legal content and agendas for our virtual conferences and other virtual events.
  • Own and lead speaker research, selection, and preparation, as well as creation of an event theme, construction of an agenda, communication and coordination with sponsors, and overall run of show.
  • Help source high-quality speakers and content ideas that will generate interest for our various member constituencies.
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis (including talking to our members, monitoring our listserv, staying abreast of current events, etc.) of the startup and tech legal industries to determine the right speakers and topics for each of your events.
  • Communicate and build relationships with our speakers and sponsors, address their needs, and set expectations for the event.
  • Some travel may be required to provide support for onsite execution of in-person events.

Qualifications

  • You have an insatiable curiosity to learn about new topics and issues.
  • You're an excellent communicator and a strong, confident writer.
  • You have incredible attention to detail.
  • You’re highly customer-service oriented and love building and maintaining relationships.
  • You're extremely comfortable learning new technologies and have a passion for the startup and legal communities.
  • You have strong administrative and organizational skills, can multi-task, follow up and manage competing priorities all under tight deadlines, as well as communicate deadlines and needs with others when collaborating with other individuals and/or departments.
  • You're a self-starter, but when something is over your head you aren't afraid to ask for help.

Experience

  • B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college or university, or comparable work experience
  • Demonstrable interest in educational content, startups, and/or community building.
  • 3+ years of education, content, and/or event experience
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects and tasks within the same timeline.
  • Background or experience in the education industry (learning experience design/instructional design) and/or legal operations a plus.
  • Familiarity with: Airtable, Canva, Splash, Google Drive a plus - not required.
